- Medicare fee-for-service ERCP and EUS services billed in ZIP codes within 30 miles of the program city, 2024 (CMS Physician and Other Practitioners data). This shows regional demand, not the program's own volume, and leaves out commercial insurance. Programs in the same city share a number.
- Certified H-1B labor condition applications with a GI fellow or trainee job title at the same institution, 2023-10-02 to 2026-06-22 (US Department of Labor). These were general GI fellowship filings, not only advanced endoscopy. "Ask" means none was found with a GI title. Many hospitals file fellows under general titles, and most international fellows train on a J-1 visa sponsored by ECFMG, so ask each program.

How many advanced endoscopy fellowship programs are there?
In the 2026 ASGE match, 93 fellows matched at 76 US programs. 15 of those programs took two or three fellows. Programs enter their 2027 information on asgematch.com until December 2, 2026, so the 2027 list can differ.
When is the 2027 advanced endoscopy fellowship match?
Applicants can register from January 6, 2027. Applications and letters of reference are due February 19, 2027. Rank order lists are due June 23, 2027, and results are posted July 12, 2027.
Who can apply to an advanced endoscopy fellowship?
ASGE says fellows should complete a three-year ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship before the appointment. Applicants from non-ACGME programs must have at least three years of gastroenterology training. Each program can add its own requirements.
Which advanced endoscopy fellowship programs sponsor H-1B visas?
Most international GI fellows train on a J-1 visa sponsored by ECFMG. In US Department of Labor data, 9 of these 76 institutions filed H-1B applications for a GI fellow title from 2023-10 to 2026-06: University of California, San Francisco; Yale University; Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine; Rush University Medical Center; The University of Chicago; Henry Ford Hospital; Montefiore Medical Center; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center; Virginia Commonwealth University. Other programs may file under general titles. Ask each program before you rank it.
How much does the ASGE match cost?
The fee depends on how many programs you apply to: $125 for 15 or fewer, $500 for 16 to 30, and $1,000 for 31 or more. Fees are not refundable. You can move up a tier later but not down.
What does the application packet include?
The ASGE application, education history, USMLE scores, certification of residency completion, a personal statement, a CV, and three letters of reference.
