What the board tags mean

A listing shows J-1 or H-1B when that language is in the employer posting. Absence of a tag is not a refusal. Open the ATS and ask the recruiter.

J-1 pathway (high level)

  • ECFMG sponsors most physician J-1 training visas. Start at ECFMG EVSP.
  • After training, many J-1 physicians need a waiver of the two-year home-residence rule. Conrad 30 is the common state route. The federal overview is on travel.state.gov.
  • Employers in shortage areas or specific federal programs (VA, HHS) sometimes sponsor waivers. That is an employer decision, not a DigestiveJobs product.

H-1B pathway (high level)

  • USCIS describes H-1B specialty occupation petitions at uscis.gov/h-1b.
  • Cap-exempt employers (many universities and nonprofits) follow different timing than the lottery cap. Confirm with the hiring institution.

No. Visa notes on a listing come from the employer. Apply on the employer ATS and confirm J-1 or H-1B with that recruiter.

How do I filter J-1 or H-1B roles?

Use the J-1 and H-1B chips on the live board. A missing chip means we did not see that language in the posting, not that sponsorship is impossible.
