Mission or Goal of Unit: The
Pediatric GI Division of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond of Virginia
Commonwealth University (CHoR) is devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching,
advocacy, and research.
Chief Purpose of this position: The
Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time, BC/BE pediatric
gastroenterologist to join their team. The person filling this position is expected
to have knowledge of all aspects of pediatric gastroenterology and will assist
in the care of patents both in clinics and in the hospital as well as
participate in teaching and committee responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Faculty member will
have teaching responsibilities in pediatric gastroenterology. Faculty will
provide guidance and mentorship to Students, Chief Residents, and Fellows when
applicable.
- Research: Faculty member will
have the ability to conduct research funded by grants or contracts, and be able
to participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research.
- Service: Faculty member will
serve on departmental or School of Medicine committees when appropriate, as
well as professional service through journal review, conference presentations,
etc.
- Clinical: Faculty member provide
clinical GI care including call coverage and in patient care responsibilities.
- Other: Faculty member will
take on administrative duties associated with this role.
Required Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
- Board certified or board eligible in
Pediatric Gastroenterology
- Experience
with clinical care of pediatric GI patients ages birth to 21
- Experience
in an academic medical center
- Demonstrated
experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student
environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
