The Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition, Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, is seeking to hire a Hepatologist at the Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join an expanding 50-member faculty practice. The position will be based at the Boston Campus of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with a partial commitment to outpatient care at one of our community locations. The appointment comes with a  full-time academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. Requirements: Successful applicants will be fully trained and Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology with an interest in Transplant Oncology to join our Liver Tumor program and long established multidisciplinary Liver Tumor program.

 

Responsibilities will include outpatient consultations in Hepatology and endoscopy procedures at the main campus (BIDMC) and off site community locations as well as attending on the Hepatology inpatient services at BIDMC. The applicant is expected to be actively engaged in all aspects of community based care models.

 

The applicant will join a long established program with 15 academic hepatology partners operating at BIDMC and 5 community locations with plans to expand to additional outreach clinics. Our team works collaboratively with a long established multidisciplinary team of Liver Oncologist, Interventional Radiologists, Hepatobiliary Surgeons and Radiation Oncologists providing care to patients with primary and secondary liver tumors. In addition the BIDMC Transplant Institute with 7 transplant surgical colleagues performs over 120 liver transplants per year including living donor liver transplant and has a well-established transplant oncology program for HCC, hilar cholangiocarcinoma and colorectal metastases..
