JOB OVERVIEW:
  • Job Title: Gastroenterologist – Physician (MD or DO).
  • Job Type: Part-Time (with option for Full-Time).
  • Location: OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center, Illinois.
  • Service Setting: GI Lab, Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient Rounding.
  • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8–9 hour days.
  • Estimated Shifts per Month: 14.
  • Call Type: In-House Weeknight Call.
  • Call Frequency: Weeknights during scheduled weeks.
  • On Call Admissions: Average 4 per night.

COVERAGE DETAILS:
  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed (estimated 60 days).
  • End Date: Ongoing (open-ended need).
  • Reason for Opening: Turnover Vacancy.

PRACTICE INFORMATION:
  • Primary Duties: GI procedures (colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCP), clinic visits, inpatient rounding, consults.
  • Procedures: Routine colonoscopies, scopes for bleeds, treatment of esophageal bleeders, EGDs.
  • Daily Volume:
    • GI Lab: 10–14 procedures/day.
    • Clinic: 20–30 patients/day.
  • Setting: 49-bed hospital (lower inpatient volume).
  • Inpatient Rounding: Yes, daily as needed.
  • Practice Support: Full-time APP in GI clinic.

FACILITY INFORMATION:
  • EMR System: EPIC.
  • Support Staff: Full-time APP and GI team support.
  • Privileges: Full privileges required (60 days to credential).
  • Will Work Solo: No.

PATIENT INFORMATION:
  • Patient Demographics: 100% Adult.
  • Typical Diagnoses: Stable GI issues, bleeding, screening and diagnostic colonoscopies.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licenses: Active Illinois license required.
  • Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CSR License (required).
  • DEA License: Required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-training.
  • Availability: Minimum 2 weeks per month; full-time applicants welcomed.
